Unfortunately, I'm only able to get here maybe twice a year and it's not nearly enough. Today I had the 55, which is a 19 but with corned beef instead. Like the pastrami, the corned beef here just has a significantly elevated taste, richness, and lack of fat, not found anywhere else. Couple that with a generous, serving great coleslaw and the perfect twice baked rye, and you have yourself a masterpiece. I tend to walk in and already know what I want. But today I spent some time reading the menu and it really is extensive. As always, the service is beyond fantastic. The moral of the story is need to get here more often.

Langer's Delicatessen is a slice of heaven tucked away next to MacArthur Park in the heart of Los Angeles. On my recent visit, I indulged in their iconic Number 5 Pastrami Sandwich with Swiss cheese and added a side of chili cheese fries. Let me tell you, this meal was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I took my first bite, the tender pastrami melted in my mouth, releasing a burst of rich, smoky flavor that danced on my tongue. The Swiss cheese added a creamy, slightly nutty undertone, perfectly complementing the pastrami's boldness. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors that made my mouth water, and my eyes roll back in sheer delight. The chili cheese fries were the perfect sidekick. The crispy fries were smothered in savory chili and gooey cheese, creating a comfort food masterpiece that was indulgent and satisfying. Every forkful was a comforting reminder of why I keep coming back to Langer's. Langer's Delicatessen never disappoints. Whether it's the impeccable quality of their sandwiches or the warm, welcoming atmosphere, every visit is worth the drive. If you're in Los Angeles and haven't experienced Langer's, do yourself a favor and make it your next stop. Nestled next to MacArthur Park, it's a culinary gem you won't regret visiting.

Langer's lived up to its name on my first visit there. Best pastrami on the west coast by far. I ordered the #19, well because that's the sandwich they are best known for. The meat is phenomenal, but surprisingly, the Rye bread was just amazing! The bread really makes this sandwich. We also ordered the Pastrami Chili Cheese Fries and what a side to pair with the sandwich. Great way to get more of their pastrami. Service is on point. They have an efficient system. The place is always busy so this system is key to the great service/experience we had. We went around 10:40am and beat the lunch rush. I highly recommend this place. It'll definitely be my pastrami fix until I'm back in NYC for you know where..

The hype is real! Have heard about the "#19" sandwich for years. Finally took the drive from the valley to downtown to give it a try. The second you walk into a place that's been there 77 years you get the vibe and wish you could have experienced it back in its heyday. Pretty fascinating cross section of people. The #19, perfection. The best rye, thick melt in your mouth pastrami, slaw and cheese. As good as it gets. Like most top shelf places I'm guessing there is less meat than there used to be, judging from pictures I've seen. But still fantastic. Fair warning, two sandwiches, one iced tea....$62 before tip. But it's one of the best you'll have anywhere.
